The NC Desert Clown Unit, a.k.a. the “Carolina Clown Crewe,” is a group of Nobles and Daughters dedicated to spreading laughter, joy, and goodwill to individuals of all ages throughout North Carolina. As an affiliated unit of the Prince Hall Shriners (A.E.A.O.N.M.S.), The Carolina Clown Unit travels throughout the Desert of North Carolina, participating in parades, visiting nursing homes, Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Hospitals, Festivals, and so much more. Each year, the Unit holds an in-person make-up workshop for its members during the Desert’s Gala Days. Members of the Unit also participate in clown activities during the annual Imperial Session held every August, including the Parade of Stars and the Evening Street Parade.

Collectively, the NC Desert Clown Unit represents a visible and lighthearted extension of the Prince Hall Shriners’ charitable mission, exemplifying their enduring commitment to fraternity, community service, and positive social engagement.
