Desert Programs

The purpose of the National Community Health Initiative (NCHI) is to promote education and awareness about diseases and health conditions that disproportionately affect communities of color and to eliminate associated health disparities.

The NCHI aims to improve the lives of A.E.A.O.N.M.S. members and the communities where we live by providing financial support for research and national outreach.

The mission of the S.A.M. and D.I.M.E. Programs is to provide positive role models to build strong, committed relationships and improve academic success, self-esteem, and social competency. We strive to improve the lives of less fortunate or at-risk youth, ages 8-22, in our community, helping them make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential and become productive citizens.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)

The Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine shares a long tradition with the NAACP, as some of its prominent attorneys were instrumental in a case that determined the organization's future. In 1919 the right to be called "Shriners" was threatened but on June 3, 1929, that would end with a unanimous decision by the United States Supreme Court.

For this reason, among others, we have committed to assisting the NAACP in its goal of expanding membership and spreading information to advance not only our race but the equality of all races.

For more information about this program, contact a Shriners representative in your city or the Desert NAACP Representative.

The HBCU Initiative Committee will serve the Imperial Council as the conduit for raising awareness and support for HBCUs. This committee will coordinate monthly fundraising to support scholarships for students enrolled at our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

To assist higher education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities for students of color. To partner with HBCUs in enriching the lives of students and their future. All disbursements will be monitored and coordinated through this committee as directed through the Imperial Council.
